Throwback Thursday: Father-son bonding

by Brad Boron / Chicago Blackhawks

Scotty and Stan Bowman share a father-son skate at the Montreal Forum, during Scotty's head coaching tenure with the Montreal Canadiens in the mid-1970s. For nearly four decades, the Bowman name has been at the forefront of professional hockey: first, with Scotty, who has won a baker's dozen worth of Stanley Cup rings as a coach and executive, and then Blackhawks Vice President/General Manager Stan Bowman, who has twice had his name engaved on hockey's ultimate prize. "I was able to share in a lot of my dad's successes by being at games throughout the years when he won the Cup," the younger Bowman told Blackhawks Magazine in 2010. "I guess it's come full circle now." Photo courtesy of Scotty Bowman.
