Some memorable dates this week in Blackhawks history:

  • On May 10, 1973, Pit Martin scored his second career Blackhawks playoff hat trick in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals against Montreal at the Chicago Stadium.

  • The Blackhawks came from behind in the third game of the Conference Finals at Toronto to edge the Maple Leafs 3-2 on May 11, 1995. Chicago had dropped the opening two games of the series, but then took the next four to knock out the Leafs.

  • On May 12, 1985, the Hawks tied a team mark with five goals in the opening period in the conference finals against Edmonton, en route to an 8-6 victory. Chicago set another record in the game by netting five of their goals on the power play.

  • On May 16, 1992, the Hawks opened the conference finals by walloping Edmonton 8-2 on their way to their second straight series sweep. The Hawks ended their run in the 1992 Stanley Cup Playoffs with an 11-game winning streak to set an NHL record before being swept by Pittsburgh in the Cup finals.
