> Winger Rostislav Olesz also chipped in a multi-point night (1g-1a), his 11th of the season.
Friday, March 16: IceHogs 3 at Houston Aeros 4:
> Goaltender Alexander Salak blocked Carson McMillian’s penalty shot attempt late in the second period.
> Down 4-1 in the third period, Rob Flick tried to spark an IceHogs comeback with two markers in a span of 23 seconds.
> Defenseman Wade Brookbank helped on both of Flick’s goals for his first multi-point game of the season.
> Jeremy Morin lit the lamp in the first period with a short-handed tally, his 14th goal on the campaign.
> Defenseman Brian Fahey recorded his 250th professional point with an assist and finished the game with a plus/minus rating of +3.
> Rockford netminder Carter Hutton turned away all 26 Rampage shots to pick up his third shutout of the season.
> Goaltender Alexander Salak faced his first penalty shot of the season and denied Carson McMillian in the second period on Friday in Houston. The Hogs have now faced three penalty shots on the season with Alec Richards turning away the other two on Oct. 14 and 16, both against Abbotsford.
> The IceHogs play their last four-game week of the season and their second to last weekend with three games in three nights.
> Winger Rob Flick became the 10th different IceHogs skater to record a two-goal game in 2011-12 with his first professional multi-goal game on Friday in Houston.
> Center Peter LeBlanc matched a season-best three-game goal scoring streak as he notched markers in all three of Rockford’s games in Week 24. The feat has been accomplished several times for the IceHogs in 2011-12, the last skater with three tallies in three games was Ben Smith from Jan. 8 to Jan. 14.
> After his brief stint with the Blackhawks, Carter Hutton stopped all 26 shots he faced against San Antonio on Saturday to register his third shutout of the season. The shutout tied the IceHogs single season record set by Hannu Toivonen (2010-11) and Corey Crawford (2007-08).
> Defenseman Brian Fahey recorded his 250th career point with an assist on Saturday. Fahey is a +8 over his last five games and shows a plus/minus rating of +11 over his last nine contests.
> Jeremy Morin tallied Rockford’s third short-handed goal of the season on Saturday.
> Defenseman Wade Brookbank turned in his first multi-point game in an IceHogs sweater with two assists on Friday. Brookbank’s last multi-point night came on Dec. 26, 2009 when he dished out two assists in Wilkes-Barre’s 2-1 win.
Hot Hog: Center Peter LeBlanc tallied goals in all three of Rockford’s contests in Week 24 and finished the week with four points (3g-1a). The Hamilton, Ontario native got the week started with his ninth multi-point game of the season, notching a goal and an assist in the IceHogs 5-2 loss to the Western Conference’s top team, the Oklahoma City Barons. Then, on Friday night, with the IceHogs in an early 2-0 hole to Houston, LeBlanc put the IceHogs on the board with his 21st marker on the campaign. The next night in San Antonio, LeBlanc slapped in his 22nd goal to seal the game and give Rockford a 3-0 win against the Rampage.
