The Rockford Rewind: Hutton heating up for IceHogs

Tuesday, Mar. 20: Hamilton Bulldogs 3 vs. Rockford IceHogs 1:

- Jeremy Morin tallied the IceHogs lone goal, his 15th of the season

Friday, Mar. 23: Houston Aeros 1 vs. Rockford IceHogs 2:
- Defenseman Brian Fahey chipped in his fourth goal of the season
- In his first action since suffering an injury on Oct. 28, Kyle Beach earned an assist on Fahey’s marker
- Winger Rostislav Olesz buried his 13th goal of the season, the eventual game-winner
- Rockford’s netminder, Carter Hutton, stopped 27 of 28 shots to pick up the win

Saturday, Mar. 24: Houston Aeros 1 vs. Rockford IceHogs 4:
- With the game tied at 1-1 after the first 40 minutes, Rockford poured on three goals in the final period to claim a 4-1 win
- Winger Philippe Paradis recorded his second multi-point game of the season with two goals in the third period
- Rob Flick registered his second Gordie Howe hat trick of the season with a goal, assist and fight
- Forward Brandon Svendsen finished the game with two helpers and a plus/minus rating of +3

Sunday, Mar. 25: Rockford IceHogs 3 at Milwaukee Admirals 2 SO:
- A night after welcoming a baby boy to his family, Wade Brookbank tallied his first goal of the season and first since Feb. 4, 2011
- Winger Terry Broadhurst registered his first career professional point with an assist on Kyle Beach’s goal in the second period
- Goaltender Carter Hutton turned away 29 shots in regulation and four more in the shootout to earn his third win in as many nights

Bacon Bits:
- Rockford is three games over .500 for the first time this season
- Following the team’s shootout win over Milwaukee on Sunday, Rockford is tied with the Admirals for fourth place in the Midwest Division, the first time since Oct. 29 that the IceHogs were not in fifth place
- Rookie winger Rob Flick has 4g-2a-6pts with a +4 in nine March games
- In Flick’s prior 31 contests, he tallied 2g-3a-5pts with a -5
- Rookie forward Philippe Paradis has 3g-4a-7pts with a +4 over his last nine games
- Over his past 14 starts dating back to Feb. 24, Carter Hutton is 11-2-0-1 with a 1.31 goals against average and a .951 save percentage

Prospect Highlight:
Carter Hutton Goaltender
Carter Hutton continued his impressive play in goal in the second half of the 2011-12 season with three more wins for Rockford in Week 25. After giving up a pair of goals on Tuesday against Hamilton in a loss to the Bulldogs, Hutton rebounded to sweep the weekend. On Friday, the backstop made 27 saves in a 2-1 win over Houston. Saturday featured a rematch with the Aeros, and again Hutton held them to just one goal in a 17 save performance. Hutton and the IceHogs needed a shootout to top Milwaukee on Sunday as he made 29 saves for his seventh straight win over the Admirals.
