In conjunction with the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI), the Chicago Blackhawks will host the 2018 Illinois State High School Hockey Championships, presented by Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers, at the United Center on Saturday, March 24. The Boys State Championship will feature Stevenson squaring off against Loyola Academy Gold at 3 p.m.
The Boys Red Division State Championship game will be broadcasted live on NBC Sports Chicago and streamed on NBCSportsChicago.com with Chris Boden and Jamal Mayers on the call. March 24 at the United Center will feature a full day of hockey with the Illinois Girls' State Championship (Glenbrook vs. New Trier, 11:30 a.m.), the Boys' Red Division State Championship (Stevenson vs. Loyola Academy Gold, 3 p.m.) and the Boys' combined Division State Championship (Waubonsie/Metea Valley High Schools vs. Buffalo Grove/Hersey/Wheeling High Schools, 5:00 p.m.).

United States Olympic Gold Medalist Kendall Coyne will drop the ceremonial first puck prior to both the Girls and Boys Red Division Championship games. Coyne is a native of Palos Heights, Ill. and a graduate of Sandburg High School and currently serves as a community liaison for the Chicago Blackhawks.
This marks the 31st year that AHAI will host their State Championship at the United Center/Chicago Stadium. The 2017 title was won by New Trier Green in the Red Division, Addison Trail/Fenton/Montini Catholic/Willowbrook High Schools in the Combined Division and Glenbrook in the Girls' Division.
