Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw will not play in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final against the Los Angeles Kings.
"We'll shoot for Saturday [Game 3]," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said.
The Blackhawks lead 1-0 in the best-of-7 series, which resumes Wednesday at United Center (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TSN, RDS).
Shaw has been skating and said Tuesday he was ready to return.
"I feel like I'm ready to play but that's not my decision to make," Shaw said. "I'm getting prepared like I'm going to play [Wednesday]."
Quenneville had indicated he might wait until Game 3 at Staples Center in Los Angeles to re-insert Shaw, who has been out of the lineup since sustaining a lower-body injury in Game 1 of a second-round series against the Minnesota Wild.
"We'll see on that," Quenneville said Tuesday when asked about Shaw's status. "I thought he was OK [Tuesday]. First time with the group there, hadn't skated in a while. We're not sure yet on [Wednesday]."
Shaw scored a career-high 20 goals during the regular season. He has two goals and four points in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games.
