Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw
is traveling with the team and expected to play when they resume the Western Conference Final against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center.
Game 3 is Saturday (8 p.m. ET; NBC, CBC, RDS), with the best-of-7 series even at 1-1 after the Kings rallied for a 6-2 win at United Center in Game 2 on Wednesday.
Shaw has missed the past seven games with a lower-body injury. He practiced earlier in the week and declared himself ready to go for Game 2, but coach Joel Quenneville decided to give Shaw a few extra days.
"I feel good out there. The legs are getting back. I'll just push myself that much harder to get back for Saturday," Shaw said Wednesday after it was announced he wouldn't play in Game 2. "A few extra days' rest is going to be good in the long run for me. I have to do what's best for the body. I'm young and my career is just starting, so you don't want to mess anything up. These three extra days are going to be huge for recovery."
Shaw has two goals and two assists in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games.
