Sharp and Vandermeer To Appear At LifeSource Blood Drive

by Staff Writer / Chicago Blackhawks

Chicago Blackhawk players Patrick Sharp and Jim Vandermeer will be meeting and greeting blood donors at the LifeSource Blood Drive in the Great Hall of Union Station in Chicago on Thursday, January 11 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

Thursday's LifeSource Blood Drive is sponsored in part by the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and part of several events designed to educate the public about blood donation. January is National Blood Donor Month and this time of year is a time when blood supplies are low following the Holiday season.

Sharp is currently in his second full season in the NHL. He scored his sixth goal of the season in Sunday's game against Phoenix. In 2005-06, Sharp has 14 goals and 17 assists. Nine of those goals and 14 of the assists came after being acquired by the Blackhawks from Philadelphia.

Vandermeer is in his third season with the Blackhawks and his fourth NHL season overall. In 2005-06, Vandermeer had his most productive season as a pro, posting six goals and 18 assists for 24 points.
