Winger Tuomo Ruutu will be in the lineup Monday afternoon against Calgary after missing the last 25 games due to a back injury.
Ruutu has been practicing with the team for the past week and took contact for the first time last Thursday. On Saturday, coach Trent Yawney paired Ruutu with Tyler Arnason at center and Martin Lapointe at right wing. Yawney said he plans to limit Ruutu's playing time to 13 or 14 minutes initially.
Also on Saturday, the Blackhawks reassigned winger Shawn Thornton and placed goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin (groin) on injured reserve. He is eligible to come off IR Thursday in Vancouver.
