Forward Richard Panik agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday. Financial terms were not released.
He would have become a restricted free agent July 1.

Panik, 25, had six goals and eight points in 30 regular-season games after he was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs for forward Jeremy Morin on Jan. 3. He has 25 goals and 47 points in 181 NHL games with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Maple Leafs and Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks also traded forwards Teuvo Teravainen and Bryan Bickell to the Carolina Hurricanes for a second-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2017 draft Wednesday.
