RELEASE: Galvas Assigned to Active Roster

The Chicago Blackhawks today announced that they have assigned defenseman Jakub Galvas (JAY-kuhb GAL-vuhs) to the active roster from the taxi squad.
In addition, Chicago Blackhawks team physician Dr. Michael Terry today released the following medical update:
Defenseman Jake McCabe will not play in tonight's game and head athletic trainer Mike Gapski will not be behind the bench (COVID-19 protocol).

Galvas, 22, has posted six points (1G, 5A) in 20 contests this year in his first season with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Galvas would make his NHL debut should he play in tonight's game.
Such "COVID Protocol Related Absences" can be the result of a number of factors including, among others: (1) an initial positive test which remains unconfirmed until confirmatory testing is completed pursuant to the Positive Test Protocol; (2) mandated isolation for symptomatic individuals pursuant to the Positive Test Protocol; (3) required quarantine as a high-risk close contact in accordance with the Positive Test Protocol; (4) isolation based on a confirmed positive test result and/or; (5) quarantine for travel or other reasons as outlined in the COVID-19 Protocol.
The Chicago Blackhawks will play the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at 6:00 p.m. CT at Nationwide Arena. The game can be seen on NBC Sports Chicago and heard on WGN Radio.
