The Chicago Blackhawks today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Corey Perry on a one-year contract that runs through the 2023-24 season ($4,000,000 salary cap hit). Perry was acquired via trade yesterday from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for Chicago's seventh round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Perry, 38, dressed in 81 regular-season games with the Lightning during the 2022-23 season, recording 25 points (12G, 13A). He also tallied five points (2G, 3A) in six Stanley Cup Playoff games this past year.

A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Perry has amassed 883 points (417G, 466A) in 1,257 career NHL regular-season games between the Anaheim Ducks (2005-19), Dallas Stars (2019-20), Montreal Canadiens (2020-21) and Tampa Bay (2021-23). Since joining the League in 2005-06, Perry ranks eighth in games played (1,257), 10th in game-winning goals (72,) 11th in goals (417), 18th in power play goals (117) and shares 20th in points (883). He has also suited up in 196 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, registering 124 points (53G, 71A). Perry leads all active NHLers in career postseason games played (196), while he's tied for fifth in goals (53), shares seventh in power play goals (18), and ranks 10th in points (124) and 12th in assists (71). He also shares first among all active players with five career postseason overtime goals and is tied for eighth with 10 game-winning goals. Perry won the 2007 Stanley Cup with Anaheim, notching 15 points (6G, 9A) in 21 games to help the Ducks win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

During the 2010-11 season, Perry won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the League's Most Valuable Player, while also capturing the Rocket Richard Trophy for most goals (50G) among all NHL skaters. He has also appeared in four career NHL All-Star Games (2008, 2011, 2012 and 2016) and has been named to the NHL's First All-Star Team twice in his career (2010-11 and 2013-14). Additionally, the 6-foot-3, 208-pound forward is a member of the Triple Gold Club, having won two Olympic gold medals with Canada (2010, 2014), a World Championship gold medal with Canada (2016) and a Stanley Cup (2007).

Perry was drafted by Anaheim in the first round (28th overall) in the 2003 NHL Draft.
