GAME RECAP

CHI: 1, NYR: 0

1st - 19:37 - Patrick Kane (Brandon Hagel, Seth Jones)

After a slow build to the action in the first period, the Blackhawks struck late in the frame on a broken play off the rush. Seth Jones made a pass across the ice to Brandon Hagel that was deflected into the air by a Rangers stick in the process. Hagel batted the puck out of midair towards the net, where Patrick Kane put the puck home for a 1-0 lead.

2nd - 4:41 - Ryan Strome (Artemi Panarin, Adam Fox) -- PP

In the first half of a Henrik Borgstrom double-minor for high sticking, the Rangers pulled even early in the second. Artemi Panarin found Ryan Strome with a cross-ice feed to the low circle that the centerman quickly put on goal with a wrister past a diving Kevin Lankinen for a 1-1 score.

2nd - 17:25 - Adam Fox (Artemi Panarin, Ryan Strome)

The same trio connected later in the frame for the Rangers as Adam Fox game the blue shirts a 2-1 lead. Artemi Panarin put a shot towards goal from the top of the circle that was blocked in front, but Fox was able to find the loose rebound in traffic and tuck a backhander home for the score.

3rd - 14:46 - Artemi Panarin (Ryan Strome, Jacob Trouba)

New York made it a 3-1 game as Artemi Panarin netted his third point on the night after the Blackhawks got chasing in their own zone. Erik Gustafsson broke up a backdoor feed for Ryan Strome, but Strome was able to get a backhand chance on goal that was denied by Kevin Lankinen in tight. The rebound, however, popped out on the weak side for a wide-open Panarin to put home into the gaping net.

CHI: 2, NYR: 3

3rd - 18:41 - Alex DeBrincat (Patrick Kane, Seth Jones)

The Blackhawks pulled one back late as Alex DeBrincat tucked a shot home off a one-time bid through traffic in front with the extra attacker on. Initially called no goal on the ice, the play was reviewed to show the puck trickled across the line before the whistle blew.
