Three Blackhawks prospects and the Seattle Thunderbirds advanced to the semifinal round of the Memorial Cup tournament on Wednesday night. The WHL champions defeated the Kamloops Blazers with a 6-1 final.

This is the first time in the team's history that they have won two games in the Memorial Cup tournament since they appeared in 2017 (0-3) and in 1992 (1-3).

Colton Dach extended the Thunderbirds lead in the third period to score his first goal of the tournament. He finished the game with his one goal, five shots on goal and went 9-for-15 on faceoff wins.

Kevin Korchinski extended his point streak to three straight games with his third assist. The 2022 NHL Draft pick added the helper on teammate's Kyle Crnkovic to bring the score to 4-1 early in the third.

As for Nolan Allan, he finished the night with two shots on goal and as a plus-one. He has two goals through his last three games.

The Thunderbirds will face the winner of Thursday's tiebreaker match between the Blazers and Petes. The semifinal match will take play on Friday with a 9 p.m. CT puck drop.
