Prospect Roundup: DeBrincat surpasses 80 points

1st Star: RW Alex DeBrincat, Erie Otters (OHL)
The Line: 2GP, 2G, 5A

Alex DeBrincat became the first player in the Ontario Hockey League to reach the 80-point mark this season after posting seven points in two outings with Erie last week. He registered a goal and three helpers on Tuesday in a 5-0 win over Kitchener, then tallied a goal and two assists in a 9-1 victory against Guelph. The 2016 second-round pick leads the team with an OHL-best 81 points in 42 games this season, giving him a career-best scoring rate of 1.93 points per game.

2nd Star: C Dylan Sikura, Northeastern University (H-EAST)
The Line: 1GP, hat trick

Sikura recorded his second hat trick of the season in a 4-3 win at UMass-Lowell last Friday; all three of his goals came in the third period to help the Huskies overcome a 3-1 deficit, including the game-winner with just 17 seconds remaining in regulation. The 2014 sixth-round pick is now tied for the team lead with 41 points (16G, 25A) in 25 games this year; he also shares fifth in the NCAA in points, fourth in assists and eighth in goals.

3rd Star: C John Hayden, Yale University (ECAC)
The Line: 2GP, 2G, 1A

Facing a 3-1 deficit against Brown last Friday, Hayden tallied twice in the second period to help Yale tie the game, an eventual 4-3 win for the Bulldogs. The senior added an assist the night in a 4-1 win for Yale. The 2013 third-round pick shares eighth in the nation with a team-best 16 goals; he shares third overall with 107 shots on goal, but paces the NCAA with 5.1 SOG per game.

  • Radovan Bondra collected four points in four games with Prince George in the Western Hockey League last week, including a three-point night to help the Cougars defeat Edmonton 11-3 on Saturday; he has 12 points in 11 games with Prince George and 43 points in 43 games overall this season ... John Dahlstrom logged a point in all three games with the Medicine Hat Tigers last week and now has 47 points (22G, 25A) in 46 games in his first WHL season ... Graham Knott recorded a goal and an assist for the OHL's Windsor Spitfires in a 5-3 win over Hamilton on Sunday; he has 17 points in 25 games with Windsor this season and 34 points in 39 games overall.

  • Nathan Noel notched a goal and an assist in two games with the QMJHL's Saint John Ice Dogs last week. The 2016 fourth-round pick has 32 points in 34 games this season ... Alexandre Fortin contributed a goal and an assist in Rouyn-Noranda's 5-2 loss to Acadie-Bathurst on Saturday and now has 38 points in 35 games this season ... Defenseman Jake Ryzcek recorded five assists in three games with the USHL's Waterloo Black Hawks last week. His three-point performance in a 4-3 overtime win against Sioux City -- including a helper on the game-winner -- on Sunday was a season high.

  • Senior forward Chris Calnan recorded two goals, including the game-winner, to help Boston College defeat Notre Dame 6-4 on Saturday. The 2012 third-round pick has 13 points in 27 games this season ... Notre Dame defenseman Dennis Gilbert picked up two helpers in Saturday's game and now has 11 points (all assists) in 26 games during his sophomore campaign.

  • Mark McNeill picked up two assists in three games with the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs last week; he paces the team with 19 helpers and shares the club lead with 25 points this season ... Defenseman Erik Gustafsson collected two assists in three games last week and now has 13 points (4G, 9A) this season ... Before being recalled by Chicago on Sunday, blueliner Gustav Forsling extended his point streak to four games with three assists in three tilts. In 11 AHL games, the 20-year-old posted five points ... Center Michael Latta, acquired in a trade with Los Angeles last week, logged an assist in his debut with Rockford last Wednesday.
