Practice Notes: Toews To Play

by Adam Kempenaar / Chicago Blackhawks
A swollen, stitched-up Jonathan Toews addressed the media Monday and said he would be in the lineup wearing facial protection Tuesday night in Minnesota. Toews took an elbow to the mouth from Vancouver's Matt Pettinger during Sunday's 4-1 win over the Canucks.

Watch video with Toews below, including comments about the addition of LW Andrew Ladd. Plus, winger Ben Eager discusses his return to the lineup:

Coach Denis Savard said goaltender Corey Crawford will make his second career NHL start and first of the season Wedneday at home against Anaheim. Crawford has appeared in two games this season allowing three goals in 44 minutes of action. With Nikolai Khabibulin ailing (back), Patrick Lalime will make his 6th consecutive start Tuesday night against the Wild.

Center Dave Bolland (hip flexor) will return to the lineup Tuesday along with forward Adam Burish (1-game league suspension), prompting the Blackhawks to re-assign centers Jake Dowell and Petri Kontiola to Rockford.
