March 14 Capitals At Blackhawks Contest Selected As NBC’s Game Of The Week
/ Chicago Blackhawks
In conjunction with the National Hockey League and NBC, the Chicago Blackhawks announced today that their March 14 game against the Washington Capitals at the United Center will be televised nationally on NBC. To accommodate the broadcast, the game time has been set for 11:30 A.M. (CT).
Already scheduled to appear nationally on VERSUS an NHL-high nine times during the 2009-10 season, the March 14 contest will be Chicago’s third NBC broadcast of the year. The Blackhawks opened the 2010 NBC Game Of The Week slate with a shootout win over Detroit on Jan. 17 at Joe Louis Arena, and will host the Red Wings at the United Center on Sunday, March 7 on NBC.
The March 14 meeting is the only matchup of the 2009-10 regular-season between the Blackhawks and Capitals, led by the National Hockey League’s leading scorer Alex Ovechkin. Washington has not visited the United Center since March 19, 2008.
Team broadcast partners Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV have both established multiple ratings records for Blackhawks telecasts during the 2009-10 campaign.
