Each and every week throughout the 2018-19 season, chicagoblackhawks.com will have answers to some fan-submitted questions. This week, Adam Burish responds to a few, including his thoughts on first-year player Dominik Kahun.
1. Hi Adam, I had a question about Dominik Kahun. How do you see his development in the last few weeks and (what do you see in his) skills and quickness for the Blackhawks offense? - Ansreas , B. from Germany
Hi Ansreas,
I was impressed with Dominik right from day two of training camp at the scrimmage during fan fest. He was impressive in that game and surprised a lot of people. His speed, skill and confidence with the puck were noticeable all training camp. He's a new-school type player that isn't afraid to make plays with the puck and try things in games that I wasn't close to good enough to even try in practice... and he always has a smile on his face, fun player to watch! Being from Germany I'm sure he's hoping you can recommend somewhere to get good sausage, sauerkraut and a stein of beer!
2. Given the recent resurgence of Toews, is it reasonable to expect a bounce-back year similar to the one by Anze Kopitar? - Cory S. from Chicago, IL
I don't think there was a question in anyone's mind that knows Toews, that he was going to have a great season this year. He is as competitive of a guy as I have ever played with or against, and he expects a crazy amount out of himself in everything he does. In hockey, we always talk about guys you'd want to go to battle with and Toews is always at the top of that list! If we could just get him not to be so Captain serious all the time! Maybe Kahun will take him out for one of those German Steins of beer!
3. What's the best prank you ever pulled while playing for the Blackhawks? - Ilma from Sydney, Australia
Ilma from Australia... a Blackhawks fan from Australia... Heck ya!! Or, probably just a big Burish fan. I won't tell the other guys! As far as the hotel pranks pulled on Kane and Toews, I have no idea what you're talking about...
