will return to the Chicago Blackhawks lineup Tuesday night against the St. Louis Blues after missing eight games with a lower-body injury, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
Kane, the Blackhawks' third-leading scorer this season with 11 goals and 27 points, has been out since suffering the injury, believed to be to his left ankle, just 46 seconds into Chicago's 4-2 win against Calgary on Dec. 5. While the Blackhawks have won four straight games heading into tonight's meeting with St. Louis, the team initially struggled without Kane in the lineup, losing three of its first four games after he was placed on injured reserve.
The Blackhawks and Blues are currently separated by two points in the standings and occupy the seventh and eighth spot in the Western conference, respectively.
While Kane will be back in the lineup, Chicago will be without Fernando Pisani, who is ill. Also, Corey Crawford
will watch Marty Turco get the start as Crawford continues to recover from the flu.
