Hawks Trim Camp Roster

by Staff Writer / Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks trimmed their training camp roster by six following Tuesday night's preseason opener.

C Evan Brophey, LW Adam Hobson and D Ben Shutron were returned to their junior teams, while tryout forward Sean McMorrow and goalies Olivier Michaud and Tom Lawson were cut. Lawson was the only player to dress for Tuesday night's win over St. Louis. He did not get in the game as Brian Boucher played all 60 minutes and earned the shutout.

The Blackhawks selected Shutron in the 4th round of the 2006 draft out of Kingston in the Ontario Hockey League. Brophey and Hobson, both 2005 draft selections, return to Plymouth (OHL) and Spokane (WHL), respectively.

The Blackhawks' camp roster stands at 46 players with G Patrick Lalime and D Cam Barker on injured reserve.
