Earlier this week, Blackhawks Head Athletic Trainer Mike Gapski and Assistant Equipment Manager Clint Reif were recognized at the annual Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society (PHATS) and Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers (SPHEM) meetings in Orlando.

Gapski was recognized for having worked 2,000 games in the NHL after his 27th season with the Blackhawks. He earned the position of head athletic trainer with Chicago in 1987. Gapski also served as athletic trainer for the 1991 and 2003 NHL All-Star Games and for Team Canada at the 1991 Canada Cup.

Reif was awarded for 1,000 professional games worked, a milestone he reached during his eighth season with the Blackhawks equipment staff and his fifth as assistant equipment manager. Reif was named to his position on July 1, 2009.

Congrats to two integral members of the Blackhawks training and equipment team!
