Five 2009-10 Games To Watch

by Dan Rosen / Chicago Blackhawks
Oct. 2, 2009 vs. Florida -- The Blackhawks' season opener against the Panthers kicks off the NHL Premiere Helsinki and is the front end of back-to-back games at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland.

Oct. 8, 2009 at Detroit -- Not only is this a rematch of the Western Conference Finals, but it's Marian Hossa's return to Motown and the Hawks' first chance to gauge their new roster against the team that remains the measuring stick in the Western Conference.

Oct. 14, 2009 vs. Edmonton -- Former goalie Nikolai Khabibulin, who backstopped the Hawks to the Western Conference Finals this past season, returns to United Center with his new team, the Oilers.

Dec. 5, 2009 at Pittsburgh -- The Hawks visit the 2009 Stanley Cup champs, and it could be the first time Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are on the ice at the same time. The teams didn't play in 2007-08, when Toews and Kane were rookies, and Crosby was injured when they met last season.

April 11, 2010 vs. Detroit -- The regular-season finale for both teams. Could the Central Division title possibly be decided on this Sunday afternoon? It's something to think about.
