Fans Choice Awards: Havlat Is Hawks' MVP

by Brad Boron / Chicago Blackhawks is proud to announce the winners of the inaugural Blackhawks Fans Choice Awards. Thanks to everyone who voted!

Coming off of last year’s season-ending shoulder surgery, Havlat was one of the Hawks’ biggest question marks to start the season. He answered every one of them in 2008-09, leading the Blackhawks in points (77) and assists (48) while finishing just behind Jonathan Toews in goals (29).

Not only did Havlat have a stellar regular season, but he followed it up with an even better playoff run. Havlat led the Hawks in points (15) and assists (10) in the postseason, and no one had more clutch performances when it mattered most; Havlat could always be counted on to make the big play at the right time. (Check out two of Havlat’s best postseason plays below).

Martin Havlat (40%)
Jonathan Toews (25%)
Nikolai Khabibulin (18%)
Duncan Keith (7%)
Patrick Kane (6%)
