by Elise Butler / Chicago Blackhawks

Ray Emery will start in net for the Blackhawks on Tuesday when they visit the Colorado Avalanche Head Coach Joel Quenneville said after practice Monday. The game will be Emery’s second consecutive start.

“He played very well basically every time he’s been in the net for us this year,” Quenneville said. “He’s been consistent. He’s been solid, predictable, dependable. The guys played well in front of him the other night. He earned another start.”

Emery is 11-4-2 on the season and has appeared in 20 games, posting a .904 save percentage and 2.73 goals-against average. He has faced Colorado twice before, once as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2009 and once last season with the Anaheim Ducks. He allowed four goals both games, posting one win and one no decision.
