Dustin Byfuglien Recalled From Norfolk

General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defensemen Dustin Byfuglien from the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL.

Byfuglien has appeared in 52 games for the Norfolk Admirals this season scoring 14 goals and adding 22 assists for 36 points with 107 penalty minutes and a +10 rating.

This will be Byfuglien's second recall of the season by the Blackhawks. Earlier this season, Byfuglien had appeared in six games for the Blackhawks posting two assists and four penalty minutes.

Originally the Blackhawks' 8th round selection (245th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Byfuglien made his NHL debut last season when he appeared in 25 games for the Blackhawks and scored three goals and five points with 24 penalty minutes. In his first career NHL game on March 1, 2006 versus the Nashville Predators, Byfuglien scored his first NHL goal which turned out to be the game winner in a 3-0 Blackhawk victory.
