The following statement was issued today by Chicago Blackhawks Head Team Physician Dr. Michael Terry of University of Chicago Medical Center as a follow-up to the injury suffered yesterday by defenseman Simon Danis-Pepin
(6-7, 208) at the 2008 Prospect Camp:
“Simon was involved in an inadvertent, high-energy collision yesterday and as a normal precautionary measure we brought him in to further examine the severity of his injury. All tests performed were negative and confirmed he suffered a strain and contusion to his neck. He was released from the hospital and will miss the remainder of the prospect camp but we expect him to be fully recovered soon.”
Danis-Pepin, 20, was drafted by Chicago in the second round (61st overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and has spent the last three seasons playing with University of Maine.
