Comcast SportsNet To Celebrate Eddie Olczyk Heritage Night

Chicago, IL (April 7, 2010) – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the 2009-10 NHL Central Division champion Chicago Blackhawks, will provide special coverage to celebrate Sunday’s “Blackhawks Heritage Night” honoring Chicago native/former NHL standout/current Blackhawks game analyst Eddie Olczyk.

On Sunday, April 11 at 2:00 PM, Comcast SportsNet will bring viewers LIVE coverage of the “Blackhawks Heritage Night” pre-game ceremony from the United Center (prior to the team’s regular season finale against the rival Detroit Red Wings) featuring an Olczyk career highlights video tribute from the UC Jumbotron, along with the ceremonial first puck drop. Prior to the game at 1:30 PM on Comcast SportsNet, viewers can look forward to a new feature and interview on Chevy Blackhawks Pre-Game Live chronicling Olczyk’s brilliant hockey career, both on and off the ice. Viewers will also be able to check out this feature on SportsNite presented by GMC at 6:30 PM and on SportsNite presented by DEX at 10:00 PM.

In addition, Comcast SportsNet’s newly-enhanced website, CSNChicago.com, will provide video highlights of the on-ice, pre-game ceremony from the United Center, along with video of the Olczyk feature airing on Chevy Blackhawks Pre-Game Live and SportsNite. Plus – CSNChicago.com Blackhawks “Insider” Brett Ballantini will post a new feature story about Olczyk and his numerous accomplishments over the years.

NOTE: Comcast SportsNet will announce its Blackhawks Stanley Cup Playoffs first round telecast schedule and surrounding coverage early next week.
