RELEASE: Kevin Korchinski Signs Three-Year Entry-Level Contract

The Chicago Blackhawks today announced the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Kevin Korchinski (kohr-CHIN-skee) on a three-year entry-level contract that runs through the 2024-25 season ($950,000 salary cap hit).
Selected by the Blackhawks with the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, Korchinski set career highs in goals (4), assists (61) and points (65) during the 2021-22 campaign with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League. His 61 assists ranked second among league blueliners and his 65 points were fourth. He posted the most assists by any WHL rookie and was named to the WHL (US) Second All-Star Team. During the postseason, the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native led WHL defensemen with 19 points (6G, 13A) in 25 contests.

The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native has compiled 75 points (4G, 71A) in 91 WHL games, all with the Thunderbirds.
