The Predators opened the scoring early in transition as Cody Glass sent Philip Tomasino into the offensive zone with a neutral zone pass spanning the full width of the ice. Tomasino advanced the puck to Eeli Tolvanen inside the far circle, where the winger put a half-slapper past the glove of Kevin Lankinen for a 1-0 lead.

1st - 7:30 - Patrick Kane (Dylan Strome, Alex DeBrincat)

Chicago answered a few minutes later as Alex DeBrincat sprung his linemates on a 2-on-1 with a breakout pass from his own zone. Dylan Strome fed Patrick Kane just outside the blue line as the duo walked into the zone. Kane stared down the return feed before slipping a wrist shot past Juuse Saros for a 1-1 game.

2nd - 5:15 - Dominik Kubalik (Jake McCabe, Lukas Reichel)

The Blackhawks took a lead in the second period as Dominik Kubalik made it a 2-1 game. Lukas Reichel bought the puck into the zone on the far side of the ice before pulling up and finding Jake McCabe at the opposite point with a pass. McCabe took a step towards the goal before sending the puck back across the ice to Dominik Kubalik at the weak-side post for a tap-in tally.

2nd - 5:58 - Roman Josi (Ryan Johansen, Filip Forsberg)

Nashville tied things up again after Filip Forsberg fed Roman Josi with an outlet pass from his own zone. Josi skated into the Blackhawks end with speed, left a puck for Ryan Johansen at the top of the circle and then drove the far side of the slot before getting the return feed, which he tucked behind Kevin Lankinen before the netminder could get across the crease.

2nd - 19:34 - Matt Duchene (Mikael Granlund, Filip Forsberg) -- PP

The Predators took the lead back just before the second intermission on a late-period power play. Off a scramble in the slot, Mikael Granlund found Matt Duchene standing alone on the weak-side dot, where Duchene put a one-timer past the traffic in front for a 3-2 lead.

3rd - 3:14 - Mikael Granlund (Mattias Ekholm)

The game's first multi-goal lead came early in the third as Nashville made it a 4-2 affair. Mattias Ekholm kept in a Blackhawks clearing attempt at the blue line and quickly wired a shot towards goal that Mikael Granlund was able to tip past Kevin Lankinen from behind the Chicago defense corps.

3rd - 14:31 - Riley Stillman (Patrick Kane, Alex DeBrincat)

Chicago pulled one back with just over five minutes to play as Riley Stillman snuck in from the point to the back post and one-touched home a Patrick Kane seam pass from the far point.
