Sixty minutes were not enough to decide the season series between the Blackhawks and the Oilers, with Chicago taking an overtime win on Thursday night at the United Center, their second of the season over Edmonton.
Sam Lafferty, Patrick Kane and Dominik Kubalik all scored in regulation before Alex DeBrincat played overtime hero. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 28 shots in his 17th win of the season.
Jonathan Toews (concussion protocol), Tyler Johnson (neck), Riley Stillman (left shoulder) and Calvin de Haan (groin) all made their returns to the lineup on Thursday night as well.

BLACKHAWK OF THE GAME: DeBrincat netted his 30th goal of the year and the 50th power-play goal of his career for the overtime game-winner.
STAT OF THE NIGHT: Kane's first-period tally was his fifth goal in his last four games and his overtime assist gave him a third multi-point game in the last four skates.
UP NEXT: The Blackhawks open a weekend back-to-back on Saturday with the first meeting of the season against the Philadelphia Flyers before hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday at home.

1st - 2:34 - Sam Lafferty (Philipp Kurashev, Ryan Carpenter)

The Blackhawks opened the scoring early on Thursday night as Sam Lafferty netted his second with the team. Ryan Carpenter picked off a clearing attempt along the boards with Lafferty applying the forecheck down low, quickly centering a pass to Philipp Kurashev in the high slot. Kurashev drew two defenders to him and then slid a pass to Lafferty alone at point-blank range in front for a five-hole score and a 1-0 lead.

1st - 14:35 - Leon Draisaitl (Connor McDavid, Tyson Barrie) -- PP

The Oilers answered on their second power play of the period as Leon Draisaitl netted his league-leading 38th goal. Connor McDavid circled behind the net, took a feed from Draisaitl standing at the bottom of the circle and then slipped a backhander back to Draisaitl as skated towards the slot. The German forward put a a one-timer past Marc-Andre Fleury for a 1-1 game.

1st - 16:55 - Patrick Kane (Dylan Strome, Caleb Jones)

Patrick Kane re-gained the Blackhawks lead less than two minutes later, finishing off a feed from Dylan Strome in an abbreviated 2-on-1. Caleb Jones kept an offensive play alive with a pinch at the point, directing the puck to Strome behind the play in the process. Strome turned and found a wide-open Kane at the back post for a 2-1 goal.

1st - 19:26 - Evander Kane (Leon Draisaitl, Darnell Nurse)

Edmonton pulled even again in the final minute of the period on a 2-on-1 rush. Leon Draisaitl fed a pass to Evander Kane driving the slot after beating his mark up the ice, redirecting a chance between the legs of Marc-Andre Fleury for a 2-2 score.

3rd - 2:49 - Dominik Kubalik

Dominik Kubalik put the Blackhawks in front for the third time on the night in the third with a solo effort off a forecheck. Kubalik tipped a puck into the zone behind the Oilers net, where netminder Mikko Koskinen stepped out to play it. Patrick Kane was pressuring on the forecheck to one side, forcing Koskinen to send it up the near-side boards, but right into the path of Kubalik in the corner. The winger wired a low-angle shot quickly into the far corner past Koskinen diving back into his crease for a 3-2 score.

3rd - 19:10 - Evander Kane

The Oilers found another equalizer with the extra attacker on in the final minute as Evander Kane went to slide a pass across the crease, deflecting off of a Blackhawk leg in front and past Marc-Andre Fleury for a 3-3 tie.

OT - Alex DeBrincat (Patrick Kane, Seth Jones) -- PP

Chicago capitalized on the rare overtime power play as Alex DeBrincat buried a one-time chance from the dot past a diving Mikko Koskinen for a 4-3 victory.
