Bulls, Blackhawks and Constellation host community cleanup event

by Chicago Blackhawks Press Release / Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks will team up with energy supplier Constellation to host a community greening event on Friday, July 12 at the Westhaven Park Gardens located near the United Center. Volunteers from each organization along with children from the community will help beautify the gardens by cleaning up the area and adding new plants and flowers. The Bulls, Blackhawks and Constellation will donate four new flower beds to the Westhaven Park Gardens.

The event will mark the second time the Bulls and Blackhawks have joined forces for a community cleanup project with Constellation. In 2012, Constellation was named “The Official Energy Provider” for both organizations through the 2015-16 seasons. Through the partnership, Constellation also sponsored both teams’ “Go Green” games held at the United Center in April.

When: Friday, July 12, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Where: Westhaven Park Gardens, at the corner of Washington St. and Wood St. in Chicago

Event attendees: Chicago Bulls volunteers, Chicago Blackhawks volunteers, Constellation volunteers, Bulls ambassador Bob Love, Blackhawks ambassador Stan Mikita, Benny the Bull, Tommy Hawk, members of the Blackhawks Ice Crew and local community children.
