Brouwer Assigned To Norfolk

General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have assigned forward Troy Brouwer to the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL.

Brouwer will head to Toronto tonight where he will participate in the American Hockey League All-Star Game. In his first pro season, Brouwer scored 25 goals and 53 points for Norfolk this season and was selcted to play in the All-Star contest. Brouwer's 53 points ranked 3rd in the AHL scoring race when he was recalled by the Blackhawks on January 25th. Brouwer has appeared in four games for the Blackhawks this season.

The American Hockey League held its skills competition last night and Blackhawks defenseman Dustin Byfuglien won the hardest shot competition with a shot that was clocked at 98.7 mph.
