In conjunction with Comcast SportsNet Chicago, the Chicago Blackhawks announced today the airing of the fourth episode of the Emmy Award-winning Blackhawks TV, an all-access, thirty-minute television show that includes a variety of segments highlighting the players’ personalities off the ice. The fourth installment of the 2010-11 season can be seen on Comcast SportsNet Chicago on Thursday, April 14 at 7:00 P.M.
The episode debuts brand new, exclusive, never-before-seen footage of the Blackhawks visit to Washington, DC in March. The show will provide a detailed look at the team’s visit to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, practice with the Wounded Warriors, a youth hockey game with First Lady Michelle Obama on the South Lawn and the reception with President Barack Obama at The White House. The program will also feature behind-the-scenes video captured personally by Blackhawks Patrick Kane
and Patrick Sharp
The television debut of Blackhawks TV ran on Comcast SportsNet on December 25, 2009, one of four original episodes that ran during the 2009-10 Stanley Cup Championship season. Blackhawks TV earned an Emmy Award from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in November in Category 13-c: Outstanding Achievement for Sports Programs - Sports Program Series Covering Sports of Based on a Sports Theme.
Also located on chicagoblackhawks.com, Blackhawks TV led the National Hockey League during the 2009-10 season with more than 12 million video starts. The upcoming April 14 episode will be available on chicagoblackhawks.com immediately after it debuts on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
