The Blackhawks have recalled forward Craig MacDonald from the Norfolk Admirals following an injury to forward Tony Salmelainen at today's practice. The Blackhawks have also activated forward Rene Bourque and have decided not to place defenseman Jassen Cullimore on injured reserve.
MacDonald remains with the Blackhawks after Tony Salmelainen injured his hip while going through a drill at this morning's practice. He will undergo further examination by team doctors before determining the extent of his injury.
Rene Bourque has been activated to the Blackhawks lineup after missing 21 games with a crack in his ankle. Bourque last played in a game back on December 31st at Columbus. He was assigned to the Norfolk Admirals for conditioning back on January 22nd and played in one game before re-injuring his ankle and has not played since.
The Blackhawks have also opted not to place defenseman Jassen Cullimore on injured reserve. Cullimore broke a finger in Sunday's 2-1 loss at New York. He has taken the full practice the last two days and would be available to play if needed.
