The Chicago Steel lost to Sioux Falls 4-1 on Friday night, as the Stampede finished off a Clark Cup Final sweep to claim the USHL championship.
Blackhawks seventh-round pick Josiah Slavin impressed throughout the series and will head to Colorado College in the fall to begin his NCAA career.
Slavin scored his first goal of the series in a tight Game 1 loss, firing home a deflection to keep Chicago in the game. He also scored the lone Steel goal on Friday night, beating Sioux Falls goalie Jaxon Stauber with a five-hole tally to get Chicago on the board.
After beginning the season as captain of the Omaha Stars, Slavin made the most of a trade deadline move to Chicago. He ended the USHL season with 47 points (24 G, 23 A) and scored four goals throughout a deep postseason run for the Steel.
