BLOG: Mitchell named 2nd Team All Conference

The 2017 second-round pick led Denver's defense with 21 points this season

Blackhawks defensive prospect Ian Mitchell, a sophomore at the University of Denver, has been named Second Team All Conference for the NCHC.

Mitchell led Denver's defense with 21 points (4G, 17A) in 32 games this season. The Blackhawks 2017 second-round pick also led his squad with 10 power-play points and 50 blocked shots.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound defender also represented Canada at the World Juniors tournament earlier this year, recording three points (1G, 2A) in five games. He wore the "A" as an alternate captain for the team.

The University of Denver plays North Dakota in the NCHC playoffs, beginning this Friday.
