There's no denying Showtime's impact.
The league's third-highest scorer in 2018-19 and second among wingers, Patrick Kane was named No. 2 on the list of best wingers in the league as NHL Network continued its summer countdown of the game's best.
"When he started shooting the puck and scoring goals, it opened up an all-new way of life for him on the ice," NHL Network analyst Mike Rupp said in the countdown. "When it's all said and done, he'll be the best -- hands down, the best -- U.S.-born player to ever play the game."
Kane is coming off a career year with 110 points (44G, 66A) and no player has been able to match his 381 points over the last four seasons.
