rockford game 3

The Rockford IceHogs fell to the Texas Stars in the Western Conference Final of the Calder Cup Playoffs 6-5 in overtime. The Texas win puts them up 3-0 in the best-of-seven series.
Tyler Sikura opened the IceHogs scoring less than five minutes after puck drop. Following a Stars tally, John Hayden helped regain the lead for Rockford at 2-1.
After a duo of goals from Texas, Gustav Forsling registered his first goal of postseason play to even the score again at 3. Luke Johnson scored just minutes later to take a 4-3 advantage.
The Stars would answer with two goals of their own but with less than a minute left to play blueliner Cody Franson scored the game-tying goal to send the tilt into overtime.
As was the case in Game 2, Texas found the back of the net in overtime to secure the victory.
Collin Delia made 21 saves in the loss.
The series will continue in Rockford on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT.
