Blackhawks trim training camp roster to 48 players

The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forwards Rob Flick, Byron Froese, Mirko Hoefflin and Phillipe Paradis, and goaltender Kent Simpson to their junior clubs. In addition, the Blackhawks have assigned goaltender Joe Palmer to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs and released forward Steele Boomer and defenseman Dallas Jackson.

The Blackhawks’ training camp roster now stands at 48 active players, which includes 28 forwards, 16 defensemen and four goaltenders. An updated training camp roster is attached.

Chicago opens preseason play on Wednesday, September 22 at 7:00 P.M. (CT) when they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The game will be broadcast locally on Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
