Blackhawks Trade Simpson To Montreal

General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have traded defenseman Todd Simpson to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for a 6th round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Simpson was signed as a free agent by the Blackhawks on August 23, 2005. The 6.03, 220 pound defenseman appeared in 45 games for the Blackhawks this season and had 3 assists, 116 penalty minutes, with a minus -2 rating while averaging 13:04 of ice time per game.

In exchange for Simpson, the Blackhawks receive Montreal's 6th round selection in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
