The Chicago Blackhawks will wear authentic camouflage jerseys during warm-ups on Sunday, Nov. 10, before hosting the Edmonton Oilers at the United Center at 6:30 p.m. This marks the fourth season the Blackhawks will wear the jerseys, courtesy of Boeing, in support of the USO of Illinois and those that serve or have served in the military.
Each one-of-a-kind jersey will be autographed by the player who wore it; jerseys are currently being auctioned online at auction.nhl.com through 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, with all proceeds benefitting the USO of Illinois. In addition, autographed camouflage jerseys of Blackhawks Ambassadors Tony Esposito, Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita and Denis Savard will be available in the auction.
The Blackhawks will also host an official “Salute to Deploying Troops” ceremony on-ice for 20 members of the United States Army who are returning to Afghanistan for another tour of duty. Four-star U.S. Army General Robert W. Cone will lead the first-intermission ceremony. Through Boeing, 100 tickets were donated to allow these military members and their guests the opportunity to attend Sunday’s game. Additionally, Anheuser-Busch has donated the Bud Light Legends Lounge, where the USO of Illinois will host veterans and active military members, along with their guests, during Sunday’s contest. Many Blackhawks Season Ticket Holders and fans also donated their tickets to veterans and active military members.
Sunday’s game will be broadcast locally on WGN-TV and can be heard on WGN Radio AM-720.
