The Chicago Blackhawks, The Chicago Blackhawks Foundation and WGN-TV will host the organization's first "Blackhawks Foundation Night" on Tuesday, March 6, as the team takes on the Colorado Avalanche at the United Center.
All in-arena elements for the game will be dedicated to raising awareness for grantees the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation supports, the programming it provides, and the community it serves. WGN-TV's broadcast will include a special pre-game show focused on Chicago Blackhawks Foundation initiatives with additional community efforts featured throughout the evening's telecast. More information, including ways fans can get involved, will be announced on a later date.

In the week leading up to "Foundation Night," the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation will unveil its updated mission, vision and community pillars. Formerly known as Chicago Blackhawks Charities, the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation has expanded to include producing and partnering on community programming, in addition to existing grant-giving efforts.
This follows the recent opening of MB Ice Arena, not only the new practice home for the Chicago Blackhawks, but also a critical community space that offers this programming in addition to hockey activities. Approximately 95% of the intended use of the facility is dedicated to the community - from ice time, use of equipment, instruction and nutritional support to after-school programming with local organizations and nonprofits - providing more than $3 million of community benefits over the next five years.
To celebrate this new community initiative, Blackhawks players, coaches and staff will be performing acts of kindness throughout the city as "Foundation Night" nears. Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy and Jordan Oesterle kicked off the service effort by visiting residents at Sunrise Senior Living of Lincoln Park.
