General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Chicago Blackhawks have signed center Martin St. Pierre to an NHL contract.
St. Pierre, 22, was originally signed to an American Hockey League contract by the Norfolk Admirals in September and had reported to their training camp. For Norfolk this season, St.Pierre appeared in 9 games and scored 4 goals while adding 8 assists for 12 points with 14 penalty minutes.
St. Pierre stands at 5.09 and weighs in at 180 pounds. Last season, he played for Greenville in the ECHL where he appeared in 45 games and had 14 goals and 39 assists for 53 points with 55 penalty minutes. Later in the season, he played for the Edmonton Roadrunners in the American Hockey League appearing in 18 games scoring 2 goals and adding 5 assists for 7 points with 8 penalty minutes.
