Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have signed forward Adam Berti to a three-year contract.
Berti, 19, 6'3", 198 pound left wing was selected by the Blackhawks in the 3rd round, 68th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. This season Berti split time between the Erie Otters and the Oshawa Generals, both of the Ontario Hockey League. He played in 39 games with the Otters and tallied 17 goals and 12 assists for 29 points. In 23 games with the Generals, he recorded 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points. For the season he appeared in a total of 62 games recording 33 goals and 30 assists for 63 points and added 52 penalty minutes.
A native of Scarborough, Ontario, Berti spent four seasons (2002-03 to 2005-06) playing for the Oshawa Generals and the Erie Otters of the OHL. In his four seasons in the OHL, he appeared in 209 career regular season games recording 76 goals and 90 assists for 166 points and 161 penalty minutes. Berti also skated in seven career playoff games while with Oshawa recording two assists and four penalty minutes.
