General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled forward Troy Brouwer from the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.

Brouwer has appeared in 32 games for the Admirals this season and has scored 18 goals while adding 19 assists for 37 points with 36 penalty minutes and a +11 rating. Of his 18 goals, 8 have been on the power play and 1 was shorthanded.

Brouwer, 21, was the Blackhawks' 7th round pick (214th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft out of Moose Jaw in the Western Hockey League. Last season for Moose Jaw, Brouwer had a career season scoring 49 goals and 102 points in 72 games. He won the WHL scoring title and was the only player in the WHL to top the 100 point mark.

The 6.03, 220 pound winger will join the Blackhawks in Colorado for tonight's game. He has never played in an NHL game.
