General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defensemen Danny Richmond and David Koci from the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL.
Richmond has appeared in 54 games for the Admirals scoring 10 goals, 5 on the power play, and adding 24 assists for 34 points with 142 penalty minutes and a +8 rating. Koci has appeared in 38 games for Norfolk and has one assist with 212 penalty minutes and a +3 rating.
This will be Richmond's fourth recall of the season with the Blackhawks. He has played in 7 games with five minutes in penalties.
David Koci, 25, was signed as a free agent by the Blackhawks on July 17, 2006. Born in Prague, Czech Republic, Koci stands at 6.06 and weighs in at 228 pounds.
Koci was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 5th round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft out of Sparta, Jr. in the Czech Republic. He played one season at Prince George in the Western Hockey League before playing for both Wheeling (ECHL) and Wilkes-Barre (AHL) over the past five seasons.
After signing as a free agent with the Blackhawks this past summer, Koci has played the entire season for Norfolk (AHL). He has never played in an NHL game.
