The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Joakim Nordstrom and defenseman Adam Clendening from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Nordstrom, 22, skated in his first game with the Blackhawks this season in Sunday’s 6-2 win over the Dallas Stars. The Stockholm, Sweden, native recorded eight points (5G, 3A), including three power-play goals, in 14 games with Rockford this season. Named the IceHogs captain on Oct. 28, Nordstrom notched a season-high two goals on Nov. 6 at Iowa. Nordstrom was the team’s third-round selection (90th overall) in the 2010 National Hockey League Draft.

Clendening, 22, has registered four points (1G, 3A) in 16 games with Rockford this season. The Niagara Falls, N.Y., native has 109 points (22G, 87A) in 163 career games with the IceHogs. Clendening was named the 2013-14 IceHogs Co-Best Defenseman of the Year with Klas Dahlbeck and an AHL First Team All-Star. He was one of Chicago’s second-round selections (36th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft.

The Blackhawks return to action on Thursday when they face off against the Calgary Flames at 8 p.m. CT. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet and heard on WGN Radio AM-720 (also simulcast on 87.7FM The Game).
