The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Andreas Martinsen (an-DRAY-uhs MAHR-tihn-sehn) on an emergency basis from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
Acquired by the Blackhawks from the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 4, 2017, Martinsen has recorded 26 points (12G, 14A) in 61 games with the IceHogs this season. The Bareum, Norway native would become the first Norwegian to ever play for the Blackhawks. He netted a season-high two goals on March 3 against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and registered points (3G, 6A) in nine of 11 games from Jan. 10 - Feb. 3. He was second on Rockford with 128 shots on goal this year.
