The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward John Hayden from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
Hayden has three goals and eight assists in 39 games this season with the Blackhawks and was assigned to Rockford on Jan. 8. He has appeared in 22 games with Rockford and scored 14 points (5G, 9A). He made his NHL debut on March 16, 2017 with Chicago and has appeared in 51 career NHL games with four goals and 11 assists. The native of Chicago was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the third round (74th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft. He signed with the Blackhawks on March 12, 2017 immediately after completing his senior season at Yale University.
