General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Dustin Byfuglien from Norfolk in the AHL.
This will be the third recall for Byfuglien by the Blackhawks this season. He has played in seven games for the Blackhawks and has two assists and six penalty minutes.
Byfuglien has spent most of this season playing at Norfolk in the American Hockey League. He has appeared in 57 games for the Admirals scoring 15 goals, including 7 on the power play, while adding 27 assists for 42 points with 132 penalty minutes and a +11 rating.
Byfuglien was the Blackhawks' 8th round pick (245th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Last season, he appeared in 25 games for the Blackhawks and scored three goals, including the game winner in his first ever NHL game against Nashville, while adding two assists for five points with 24 penalty minutes.
